Oregonians love trees and we grow them well. This pattern uses three different textures in lace to represent the forest. Straight lines of tree trunks give way to cones and leaves. Whether you make the small, scarf version or opt for the larger, shawl rendition, we hope it will wrap you in the warmth and tranquility an Oregon forest inspires.

Worked in one piece, the center panel of lace morphs as you go. This has two benefits. First, you don't get bored, as can sometimes happen when knitting a scarf. Second, the patterns reverse order in the second half of the project, so both ends of the scarf look the same without any need for grafting in the middle.
